Advice You Must Know To Obtain Total German Shepherd Obedience
You need to take into account your German Shepherd's special characteristics when training your dog.
One of the key things about any dog training is to be aware of various factors - environment, dog personality, your own personality, age and - most importantly
- the dog breed. Herding and guarding are two of the German Shepherd breeding characteristics. There are various factors that influence your german shepherd obedience.
German Shepherds are strong, handsome dogs and it's important, as with any dog but in
particular with big, smart dogs, to ensure they are properly trained.
They are ready and willing to learn and will comply obediently to your requirements if they are properly communicated and effectively delivered. This means that you should be strong in your command of your dog - taking the 'alpha' role on the basis that this is a dog that will respect strong leadership.
Overcome your dog's natural stubborness and desire for control. Make sure your dog knows you are the master . Gaining respect will derive from having a dog that's properly trained.
Having a dog that can work in well with both people and other animals is very important. Making sure your dog knows how to behave in different circumstances is important. You must reward and reinforce your dog's behaviour instead of being punishing and shouting at your dog.
Start German Shepherd training early so you should begin when the dog is a pup of around two months.
Your dog's leash training can be easily handled by using a short leash and keeping the dog close to you, understanding that it must keep close and using appropriate commands to stay close.
"Sit" training should be used by rewarding your dog and not punishing him or her.
Training your dog to guard is fine, but make sure you first have the basic commands organized for your German Shepherd so she understands them well. Just try and ensure your dog's barking is for the right reason and so train carefully and comprehensively in this regard.
You need to stop your dog biting by holding her muzzle and giving the necessary firm eye contact and command to cease.
You will be rewarded by having a good dog that behaves well if you do the right training.
